Our Projects House Moora Bali

Moora Bali

ongoing
Location: Badung, BaliType: House

This house was not your typical shop house, the design concept of Moora House was inspired by the silhouette of the graded Hindu temple, in which we implemented into the sheath of the building. With the layering and bold or slim of the sheath, the façade would appear to have multiple level of floors but in truth it only consisted of 2 floors. The finishing of this building used the stucco with dots and mixed with byo living material to bolden the natural and authentic façade.

As for the zoning, the basement was used as commercial retail for authentic Balinese batik and the 2nd floor would be used as private home area for the owner. The unique part of the layout of this house is the main entrance towards the private home. The entrance of the private home was separated by a small alley with plants along it until you reach the inner court of open-air garden as a relax area or to welcome guest that was strolling at the commercial area on the 1st floor. The inner court would enrich you with the natural surroundings like bird chirpings with specific design of cages along the staircase and also the sound of calming water from the small pond below the stairs.

The layout of the retail area in the 1st floor begun with a high-quality open space entrance, and next to greet the guests with an amusing ‘labyrinth’ display of batik that transferred them until the limited collection area along until the inner court as well.
The 2nd floor consisted of family room, dining room, and kitchen area. The access to the private bedrooms would allowed you to gaze through the inner court area.
