The limitation of land to provide wide outdoor area as interaction playground for the children and pets had become the foundation of creating concept for this house. When the pet dogs were the part of the family since young and their needs become significant for their owners. From the love they had for their pet dogs, we brainstormed and came up with a rooftop as an open space area, but at the same time also created a fully functional indoor area for the owners within the 2 storeys house.
The rooftop area design was significantly focused on the ‘green’ outdoor space with terrace functioned as outdoor playground for the owners, their children and also their pet dogs. This type of terrace landscaping would create a mean of playground for the children and dogs to stay active. Special access was also included for the dogs to travel from their room on the 3rd floor to the 1st , so that they wouldn’t have to access through the main area inside the house.
In addition to the interesting rooftop area , the mass of the building was slanted 30 degrees facing the sunlight. The house was oriented towards the east to maximize the morning sunlight and to block the west part of the ground to reduce the heat of the afternoon sun. With the slanted orientation, we were making this house as an eye point for the surroundings.
